Recently trigged by discovering some very nice masterpiece,
I’m seeking for exploring a bit my painting skills.
Here the recent references :
Sample of "Le Chevalier aux fleurs" - Georges Rochegrosse Check it out
And obviously, samples from work of Klimt, my favorite painter
Few tricks I learnt:
Better buying a 1m² plastic shit for 10€, it'll accelerate iterations and leave no regrets when there is a bad output.
Getting only primary colors
Checking on Pinterest and ChatGPT some painting that approach your idea
Sketching on a side or drawing first shapes with a pencil for structuring composition before using paint
Starting by big volumes with raw colors to focus on the global composiiton
Waiting each layer to dry before applying the next layer
Over-applying artmospheric perspectives
Adding depth with gradients and shadows
Using very bright colors in a scattered way randomly to bing some life and spakles.
Another day after Ai took my job
Why all that ?
Painting is the only way to cover big surfaces while keeping such a personal touch!
It’s also for me the most hypnotic and meditative way of creating.
Everyone I think, should try at least once, painting anything, faking a Picasso or whatever style. realizing it’s not about knowing how to paint, but about knowing how to compose with your lake of painting skills.
