A trick when you don’t paint well, is to paint big,
at least your shaky hand can improvise but this won’t be seen from a few steps back!
For those who never graffed, you need,
A shop that sell proper graff-spray paint, else online
To choose your color wisely before as you can’t really mix them after
To have a wall to paint.. legally.. most likely just ask at the local shop/ local dudes.
A strong finger to press the spray precisely
I was in March in Faro for a few nights and knowing the spot, was the perfect occasion to go for a little painting-time in the suburbs by the sea :
Faro sometimes feels like a forgotten place.
So here I went, for the color choice, having no plans or sketches..
About the color choices,
There is many nice tools to pick-up colors usually so they match, but hasn’t follow those this time
What I like to do is to pick up two colors with a good contrast, and then to add a declination of one of those. The two similar colors to bring depth, the third one bring contrast on a support that might already have a lot of colors.
Here a little webpage I coded to show the two ther color I would choose from any color :
From that point, I went full on naïve art, following lines and colors,
Here the result :
Why all that ?
The only real purpose way be just to inspire anyone to get 20€ of spray-paint for an afternoon of fun.
For the pleasure of spraying some colors,
observing contrasts and organic shape structuring on the way,
No goal no pressure no timing, maybe just a teasing of an afternoon in the Ai era !
