Elena and I are publishing our experiments on Soundcloud for now more than a year,
It's a nice and smooth platform for quick and dirty publishing. The idea is just to put our work online so we can share it and get feedbacks. However, as a matter of fact, to be able to be really listened to and shared, our songs have to be on Spotify, Instagram.. etc.
For that, you need a third party that would manage the copyrights, the royalties, and the spread of your music.
Suprisefully, you can’t upload music directly on Spotify.
After trying with routenote.com and waiting weeks for an approval of the file that never came, I ended up trying amuse.io, which was also a disappointment as they have no free plans. I ended up with https://freshtunes.com/ that seems to propose a free plan, only a fixed 25€ fee if you want to withdraw your money. So far that’s nice !
So here we are, posting our first 4 tracks in this album called “Ice Breaker”.
Going the whole process is a must-to if you have any project. By publishing on Spotify I can really feel what’s missing to add a song to this or that playlist. Also, it violently remind you there is no standard of output in term of speakers. You mix with your Bose speaker, it sounds different when it’s played on Soundcloud, it sounds different when it’s played on spotify, it sounds different on your headphones, on your computer’s speaker, on your phone, on your proper living-room speaker.. It's completely insane. So yeh, done is better than perfect, I now know what to expect !
FreshTune also spreads your music on other platforms, including Instagram, and that’s maybe the best part of it. We can now post some stories with our own songs in the background !
So stay tuned, send feedbacks, share if you like :
